Jesus Alcala November 2007
Jesus has been an elected official of The Rotary Interact Club, the JROTC and has been a member of the nationally recognized Peer Advisory Center (PAC). In April 2007, he won the JROTC “Top Gun” Award for Best Team Marksmen and as a PAC member Jesus helps as a translator at events including countless community events. The purpose of PAC at Edcouch-Elsa High School was for students to help students, but with the help of Jesus it evolved to also helping members of the community that need assistance. Jesus has also participated with the Adopt-a-Highway and Adopt-a-Beach programs.
Jesus graduated from Edcouch-Elsa High School
7th out of a class of 365. He has been a member of the National
Honor Society and National Society of High School Scholars
throughout High School and has more than 500 hours of community
service. His goal is to study Business Administration and eventually
launch his own business to increase productivity in the area and
create job opportunities for fellow Latinos who are prepared to
work. It is not only his goal to serve others but also to become a
pioneer for the Latino community in Southern Texas. His dedication
to serve those in need and to offer his time to reach out to his
community makes him a CHCI Young Leader of Today.
