With a combined attendance of more than 3,000 people, CHCI's 2012 Hispanic Heritage Month Events have concluded and were once again a huge success! The Public Policy Conference, Reyes of Comedy, and 35th Annual Awards Gala demonstrated how for 35 years CHCI has been committed to Keeping the Founders' Promise of Developing the Next Generation of Latino Leaders.

CHCI would like to once again thank its generous sponsors of the various Hispanic Heritage Month Events, Public Policy Conference, and 35th Anniversary Awards Gala. CHCI Welcomes the 2012 Fall Congressional Interns

On August 27 CHCI welcomed the 2012 Fall Congressional Internship participants. The class is composed of 12 diverse individuals, from 9 different states and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.  They are pursuing 10 different majors, and two-thirds of the class is the first generation to attend college. The fall Congressional Internship Program provides college students with paid work placement in a Congressional Office for a period of 12 weeks. This unmatched experience allows students to learn first-hand about our nation's legislative process. Promising Latino undergraduates from across the country are selected for this leadership training program.  Students gain work experience, participate in community service projects, and receive educational and professional programming provided by CHCI. This comprehensive three-prong approach provides extraordinary learning and networking opportunities for the students.
