Seeks Applicants for 2010-2011 Fellowships

New Secondary and Higher Education Graduate Fellowships to Launch in 2010

CHCI is making a final push to recruit upcoming and recent college graduates for its nine-month fellowship programs in Washington, D.C. Applications for CHCI's Graduate & Young Professional Fellowship Program and its Public Policy Fellowship Program are available now at www.CHCI.org.

The Graduate & Young Professional Fellowship Program is proud to announce the addition of secondary and higher education fellowships in 2010 to develop a cadre of young leaders in the education policy field that will serve as catalysts for much needed reform in the education and achievement of Latino students.

This program offers exceptional Latino graduates unparalleled exposure to experience in the underserved public policy areas of: health, housing, international affairs, law, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and now education. The fellowship is open to applicants with a graduate degree from an accredited educational institution in the last three years. This competitive program is comprised of a nine-month fellowship including a substantive work placement at a congressional office or federal agency. The International Affairs Fellowship includes three months abroad in Mexico. Travel, health insurance and a $2,700 monthly stipend is provided. The Graduate & Young Professional Fellowship Program application deadline is February 19, 2010.

CHCI's Public Policy Fellowship Program, conducted from August to May, provides college graduates with national hands-on public policy experience in a congressional office, federal agency, nonprofit sector, or corporate setting. Fellowship participants are provided with health insurance, roundtrip transportation to and from Washington, D.C., and a monthly stipend of $2,200. The Public Policy Fellowship Program application deadline is February 19, 2010.

CHCI, in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy in Washington, DC, and the Escuela Diplomatica of Madrid, Spain is also recruiting students to apply to the Escuela Diplomatica's Master's in Diplomacy and International Relations program.

To learn more about the Master's in Diplomacy and International Relations program at the Escuela Diplomatica in Madrid click here. The program dates are from October 2010 to June 2011. Applicants must be fluent in Spanish (speaking, reading and writing) as all lectures and course work will be in conducted in Spanish. Application Deadline: February 19, 2010.

To be eligible, all program applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents, have remarkable leadership potential, and have a demonstrated history and commitment to community and public service.
