CHCI Conference to Focus on Education and Global Energy Revolution
Featuring Education Secretary Arne Duncan and EPA Administrator Lisa Perez Jackson  
CHCI's 2009 Public Policy Conference will address the hot button issues of education and energy as part of its two-day event on September 14-15, 2009, at the Washington, D.C. Convention Center.
Latinos Leading in Education
On education, leaders will discuss the challenges the Latino community faces, especially in early childhood education, college completion, and parents' preparedness in the school environment.
"Latino students continue to lag behind their peers in education achievements, and it's time for this trend to be turned around," said Cong. Nydia M. Velázquez (NY-12), CHCI Chair. "I look forward to hearing from our distinguished Secretary of Education Arne Duncan on how the Administration is working with our community to address this issue."
