Ready to Lead Saddles up in San Antonio
On Saturday, November 7, 2009, the Ready to Lead (R2L) program traveled to San Antonio, Texas for its one-day workshop at University of Texas at San Antonio. R2L spokesperson and actor Wilmer Valderrama encouraged the youth to be leaders and to create their own pathways to success.
The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Board and its Chair Rep. Nydia M. Velázquez celebrate thirty-two years of developing the next generation of Latino leaders at the New York City Regional Board Event on Thursday, December 10, 2009, hosted by Toyota.
The regional board events help create awareness of CHCI's mission and programs to industry and community leaders. CHCI programs provide educational and leadership opportunities for Latino youth through its nationally recognized scholarships, internships and fellowships.

R2L Travels to New York
On Saturday, December 5, 2009, the R2L program will visit the Bronx, New York to host its workshop at Fordham University. More than 125 high school students are expected to participate. CHCI Chair Rep. Nydia M. Velázquez and Rep. José E. Serrano have been invited to attend. To learn more about R2L, click here.
