2013 Hispanic Heritage Month Events
Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM) is celebrated every year in the United States from September 15 to October 15. To commemorate this important annual celebration of the Latino community, CHCI convenes more than 4,000 attendees from across the country at events held in Washington, D.C. Our 2013 HHM events will be held from September 30 to October 2 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Attendance is anticipated to exceed 4,000 people for CHCI’s Public Policy Conference and 36th Annual Awards Gala. Combined, these events represent the largest and most prestigious gathering of Hispanic leaders in the nation. Attendees include national leaders, elected officials, corporate executives, community activists, educators, entertainers, and media personalities.

Public Policy Conference − September 30-October 1, 2013
The Public Policy Conference examines critical policy areas affecting the Latino community and the nation, such as employment and job creation, education, healthcare, immigration, international relations, housing, energy and the green economy, and technology. The Conference draws over 2,000 attendees, including national leaders, elected officials, corporate executives, community activists, educators, entertainers, and media personalities.
Reyes of Comedy − October 1, 2013
For 13 years, CHCI has celebrated the humorous side of the Latino culture and its many contributions to our great country. Reyes of Comedy provides a light-hearted night for all of CHCI’s supporters, board and advisory council members, program participants, and alumni to enjoy while raising critical funds for our mission.
36th Annual Awards Gala − October 2, 2013
CHCI’s Annual Awards Gala is the largest and most prestigious gathering in the Hispanic community bringing together 2,500 guests from across the country including Cabinet Secretaries, Members of Congress, celebrities, corporate executives, and nonprofit leaders.
