CHCI is proud to host the nation's premier Hispanic Heritage Month events this September 12-15, under the unifying theme, Celebrating History, Heritage and the American Dream. Join more than 3,000 Latino leaders from across the country at the Public Policy Conference, Reyes of Comedy, and 33rd Annual Awards Gala as we Celebrate the 200th anniversary of independence for many Central and South American countries and the 400th anniversary of the founding of Santa Fe in 1610 - History and Heritage. The contributions, struggles, challenges, and successes of the Latino community across the nation will be highlighted through the week - the American Dream.

The Conference assembles Latino leaders, experts and scholars to participate in timely discussions of major policy issues affection the Latino community. Key issues on the agenda include corporate responsibility, economy and workforce, education financial services, green economy, health, health care reform, immigration reform, international relations, labor, redistricting, and technology.
An important component of the Conference, the Ready to Lead (R2L) program, also educates and engages high school students in the policy discussions while preparing them for college. Job and internship seekers visit CareerLider LIVE to interact with recruiters about employment opportunities and strategic initiatives spearheaded by participating companies and organizations.

As one of the most sought after tickets in D.C., this annual event raises thousands of dollars for CHCI's leadership development programs as established and up and coming Latino comedians gather under one roof in the nation's capital. Prepare to laugh (really hard) as the comedians pull from their own experiences to portray life as a Latino in the United States. Past participants include Carlos Mencia, Cheech Marin, Alex Reymundo, Joey Medina, Greg Giraldo, Bill Santiago, and Kiki Melendez.
