Schedule of Events

Witness CHCI’s convening power at the Public Policy Conference.  On September 11-13, CHCI will bring together national leaders, elected officials, corporate executives, community activists, and educators (just to name a few) to discuss critical issues facing the Latino community and the nation.

Join Members of Congress and thousands of Latino thought leaders and policy influencers in this three-day event, which has served as a vital forum for Hispanic-American leaders since 1980.  The conference showcases best practices within critical policy areas, such as employment and job creation, education, healthcare, immigration, international relations, housing, energy and the green economy, and technology.  Attendees will benefit from participating in this important dialogue that helps shape issues of national concern.

Daily agendas include plenary sessions, keynote luncheons, and policy summits, which feature presenters from government, corporate, labor, and nonprofit communities who are working toward better policies on national initiatives that affect the Latino community.

Help shape the future of the Latino community.  Become part of the conversation.  REGISTER NOW to attend CHCI’s 2011 Public Policy Conference!

To complement the conference, CHCI will host two additional programs specifically to engage the next generation of Latino leaders.  First, R2L, CHCI’s college readiness program for high school students, will present a session onsite on September 12.  On September 13, R2L participants will attend policy sessions to gain a better understanding of issues that will affect their futures.  Second, job and internship seekers can visit CareerLider LIVE on Monday September 12, throughout the conference to interact with recruiters about employment opportunities and strategic initiatives spearheaded by participating companies and organizations.

KEEPING THE PROMISE

Keeping the Promise is a five-year campaign to raise $43 million to strengthen and expand the reach and scope of our high school college readiness program, annual scholarships and other college attainment efforts, and professional development programs, including internships and fellowships.

Our programs draw from a national group of young Latinos and provide the financial support, resources, and direct work experience on Capitol Hill to develop a pipeline of highly talented young Latino Leaders.

You can help CHCI succeed in its mission in any of the following ways:

  1. Purchase a table at the CHCI 34th Annual Awards Gala. Invite your colleagues to a premier evening of networking and award-winning entertainment, while supporting CHCI’s educational attainment and leadership development programs.  The Annual Awards Gala is the signature event of CHCI’s Hispanic Heritage Month Events.
  2. Purchase two gala tickets and donate them to CHCI to allow emerging Latino leaders the opportunity to experience this signature Hispanic Heritage Month Event.
  3. Make a donation directly to CHCI’s Keeping the Promise campaign

However you choose to direct your support, your contribution will make a critical difference in preparing the next generation of Latino leaders and in building the nation’s competitive edge globally.
