CHCI TO RELEASE PUBLIC POLICY RECOMMENDATIONS

Washington, D.C. – The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI), the nation’s leading Hispanic educational organization, will release its annual public policy report on Tuesday, May 22, 2001. The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute 2000 Issues Conference Policy Recommendations, a byproduct of the CHCI 2000 Issues Conference, will provide members of Congress with an increased awareness of issues impacting the Hispanic community. CHCI Chairman Silvestre Reyes (D-TX) will highlight key legislative successes and existing challenges at the event which will take place at 6:00 p.m. in Room B-369 of the Rayburn House Office Building.                               

Expected to attend are Rep. Silvestre Reyes (D-TX), CHCI Chairman; Rep. Joe Baca (D-CA); Rep. Rubén Hinojosa (D-TX); Rep. Robert Underwood (D-GU).  

CHCI, a non-profit, non-partisan, educational 501(c)(3) organization, provides educational programs for Hispanic college and postgraduate students.  The CHCI board of directors is comprised of Hispanic members of the U.S. Congress, non-profit leaders, elected officials, and corporate executives.
