Talented, Emerging Artists Called to Submit Work For
Hispanic Heritage Month National Art Competition
The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) is calling all
talented, emerging artists to submit their best work for an art
competition that will give the winner national exposure and an
all-expenses paid trip to Washington, DC for participation in the
organization's Hispanic Heritage Month events.
The competition will select a painting that captures this year's
Hispanic Heritage Month theme, "CHCI: The Empowerment of a New
Generation."
"The artwork should reflect how today's Latino youth are being
empowered and making strides in all aspects of society," stated Ingrid
M. Durán, President and CEO.
The winning artwork will be converted into commemorative posters and
distributed nationally. It also will be featured at CHCI's Issues
Conference, Annual Reyes of Comedy Night and Annual Gala, as well as in
CHCI's national newsletter, CHCI News, and the gala's commemorative
program.
Applications can be downloaded
from CHCI's homepage at www.chci.org,
or by contacting Camille Rodriguez, CHCI Special Events Coordinator at
crodriguez@chci.org or (202)
543-1771, x. 223. The deadline to submit artwork is August 15, 2004.
