CHCI Honors New Jersey Senator Robert MenendezWashington, D.C. – Today, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI), the nation’s leading Hispanic educational nonprofit organization, will host a mock swearing-in ceremony and reception for Senator Robert Menendez (NJ) in honor of his new senatorial appointment. The reception will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on New Jersey Avenue, Washington, D.C. “We are very proud and honored to host this historic event for Senator Menendez, who has served on our board since 1993. He has been an outstanding and committed leader on behalf of CHCI, the Latino community, and the nation,” remarked President and CEO, Esther Aguilera. Over 900 guests will join the CHCI Board Members to celebrate this historic occasion. Menendez becomes the third Hispanic in the Senate, joining Senators Ken Salazar (CO) and Mel Martinez (FL), and the first minority senator for the state of New Jersey.
