CHCI Latino Leadership Networking Reception

On March 27, CHCI and the CHCI Alumni Association, together with Teach For America, hosted a networking reception with Latino area professionals and leaders at New York Life’s Midtown Manhattan headquarters to promote the Presidential Appointments Initiative and to encourage CHCI Alumni to apply for leadership roles. CHCI President and CEO Esther Aguilera opened the evening with a warm welcome.

On hand to offer remarks were Suzanne Collins and Monica Contreras, Corporate Vice Presidents at New York Life, Tom Castro, Founder and CEO of El Dorado Capital, LLC, and Teach For America Board Member, and Frances Messano, Vice President of Strategy at Teach for America.

Closing the program was CHCI Vice President of Governance Carmen Joge, who shared important news about the Presidential Appointments Initiative, which aims to encourage and promote talented Latino candidates for political appointment positions at the state and federal level. Started in 2013 as a way to support the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda’s own Appointments Project, CHCI/CHCI Alumni Association seeks to encourage CHCI Alumni to apply for leadership roles, serve our nation as leaders in their communities, and to identify other qualified Latino talent as potential candidates for these national positions.

The CHCI Latino Leadership Networking Reception was made possible with the support of Azteca América and Teach for America.
