From now through Wednesday, April 30, high school students from specific cities can apply to CHCI’s 2014 R2L NextGen Program.

This exciting civic engagement and leadership program brings 40 students from across the country to Washington, D.C. during the week of July 27- August 1, 2014. Students will gain expansive knowledge about our democratic process, engage with Latino community leaders, and explore the nation’s capital.

R2L NextGen is FREE for participants and is made possible through the generous support of founding sponsor State Farm Insurance, Southwest Airlines (the Official Airline Sponsor of CHCI's 2014 Leadership Development Programs), and regional supporters.

In order to be eligible, students must reside in specific counties within the following geographic regions:

Central Valley, CA

Phoenix, AZ

We’d love to bring high school students from your community to D.C., but we need your help!  Since the R2L NextGen program is made possible at no cost to our student participants, applicants are only sought from regions where CHCI has dedicated financial support.

If you are interested in having students from your community participate in this program, please contact Lori Crowe at We are willing to work collaboratively to identify partners, businesses, or foundations in your local community that may be interested in sponsoring the next generation of Latino leaders.
