On March 14, the CHCI 2012-13 Fellows and 2013 Spring Interns got a behind-the-scenes look at the world of broadcast television at the longest-running political television series in American broadcasting history, Meet the Press, with host David Gregory. Our fellows and interns enjoyed exclusive access to the NBC studios in Washington, D.C. where they viewed the crew prep the stage for broadcast, give instructions to the live audience, and provide the host with the crucial last minute support needed to moderate the approaching debate.
After the show, CHCI Fellows and Interns had the chance to pose for a picture with David Gregory. They took the opportunity to ask the host his opinion on the challenges facing modern journalism and the weight that the profession continues to possess in society. Both the fellows and interns walked away with a fantastic wealth of knowledge that they will carry for years to come.
CHCI would like to thank David Gregory for his time and all of the NBC/Meet the Press staff for facilitating this wonderful opportunity for the interns and fellows.
