Fellows Provide Tutorial Services for English Language Learners

On Friday, March 25, the CHCI Fellows volunteered a day of community service by providing tutorial services to English Language Learners (ELL) at the Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School in Washington, D.C. More than 120 students were in attendance. There were a total of six classes that met with the CHCI Fellows to converse in English.

"It is great to see that people from all over the world are coming to this great country to work hard in the pursuit of their dreams," said CHCI Fellow Ismael Cid Martinez. "In this full day of service, we met and exchanged words with students from Ethiopia, El Salvador, Mexico, Colombia, and Honduras. In addition to working day and evening shifts, the students make time to attend English classes and complete their homework assignments."
