High School Latino Leaders in D.C. (HSLLDC) Participants Display Artistic Creativity During Macy's Dress for Success Contest

Thanks to the support of Macy’s, the HSLLDC students each received a $300 Macy’s gift card and a personal shopping experience to purchase professional attire for the HSLLDC program, which brings Forty high school students from nine cities to Washington, D.C  for an exciting week of learning about how the Federal Government works, meeting important leaders, visiting historic sites and developing a deeper understanding of how they can affect positive change in their communities and their nation. CHCI held a contest requesting the students document their experiences by taking pictures. What we received was much more than pictures – the students sent videos, presentations, and other creative artistic displays!

After reviewing 18 entries, the finalists were narrowed down to the top six videos/presentations. CHCI staff then selected the three top ranked entries as winners of the contest. In second place was Pedro Gomez. There was a tie for first place between Janett Muñoz and Michael Pineda (pictured below). All the three top ranked entry winners received iTunes gift cards. CHCI sends a special thanks to all the students that participated in the Macy's Dress for Success Contest.
