Solomón P. Ortiz Scholarship Endowment Fund Surpasses $100,000 Goal!

CHCI is proud to announce that the Solomón P. Ortiz Scholarship Endowment has surpassed its $100,000 goal! CHCI is grateful to BP's generous gift of $20,000, which made reaching this goal possible.

The Endowment will provide a scholarship for a deserving Latino college student every year in perpetuity as a token of CHCI's esteem for the Honorable Solomón P. Ortiz.

CHCI also would like to thank the Cornerstone Partners for leading the campaign's success: Marathon Oil kicked off the endowment with a $10,000 pledge to the fund, and The Coca-Cola Company launched a $10,000 challenge grant, which was available after CHCI received contributions totaling $40,000. These companies were joined by other major donors to the campaign—George Finley, Honeywell, and Rosenthal-Watson Law.

The outpouring of support from Ortiz' friends and colleagues generated more than $103,000 total. CHCI is grateful to these leaders for their support in helping ensure young Latinos will be able to realize the dream of higher education.
