Central Valley of California Applicants

CHCI's R2L NextGen Program is an exciting opportunity available to students from select geographic areas where Ready to Lead (R2L) events have been held. This page can provide you more information for Central Valley of California students interested in applying for the program.

I live in Central California. How do I know if I'm eligible?
In order to be eligible to apply, students must be an active participant of Building Healthy Communities program and reside in one of the following counties:

  • Fresno
  • Merced

In addition to meeting one of the geographic requirements, students must:

  • Be a current 9th, 10th, or 11th grade student
  • Demonstrate interest in learning more about civic engagement

While we do require applicants share their grades and a copy of their transcript, there is no minimum GPA requirement to apply.

All individuals are welcome to apply. However, preference is given to individuals with financial need.

Interested in applying? Visit apply.chci.org and complete the application named "R2L NextGen - Central Valley of California Applicants." Applications must be completed by Friday, April 17, 2015 at 11:59 pm Eastern Time. That's 8:59 pm Pacific Time!
