Chicago Applicants

CHCI's High School Latino Leaders in D.C. Program is an exciting opportunity available to students from select geographic areas where Ready to Lead (R2L) events have been held. This page can provide you more information for Chicago students interested in applying for the program. I live in the Chicago area. How do I know if I'm eligible? In order to be eligible to apply, students from Chicago must either: Attend a Chicago Public Schools high school. This includes public high schools, charter schools, career academies, and magnet schools. For a complete list, please click here. Attend the Instituto Health Sciences Career Academy.

Students attend Chicago Ready to Lead on October 14, 2011.

While attendance at the Chicago Ready to Lead event (held in October) is not required in order to apply, attendance at Ready to Lead will be considered during the selection process. For more information about Ready to Lead, click here.

In addition to meeting one of the geographic requirements, students must:

• Be a current 9th, 10th, or 11th grade student
• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
• Demonstrate interest in learning more about civic engagement

While we do require applicants share their grades and a copy of their transcript, there is no minimum GPA requirement to apply.
