Southern California Applicants

CHCI's R2L NextGen Program is an exciting opportunity available to students from select geographic areas where Ready to Lead (R2L) events have been held. This page can provide you more information for Southern California students interested in applying for the program.

I live in Southern California. How do I know if I'm eligible?
In order to be eligible to apply, students from the Southern California must reside in one of the following counties:

While attendance at the Los Angeles Ready to Lead event (held on December 14, 2013) is not required in order to apply, attendance at Ready to Lead will be considered during the selection process. For more information about Ready to Lead, click here.

In addition to meeting one of the geographic requirements, students must:

  • Be a current 9th, 10th, or 11th grade student
  • Demonstrate interest in learning more about civic engagement

While we do require applicants share their grades and a copy of their transcript, there is no minimum GPA requirement to apply.
