Washington, D.C. Applicants

CHCI's High School Latino Leaders in D.C. Program is an exciting opportunity available to students from select geographic areas. This page can provide you more information for Washington, D.C. area students interested in applying for the program.

I live in the Washington, D.C. area. How do I know if I'm eligible?
In order to be eligible to apply, students from the Washington, DC area must reside in one of the following counties:

2012 Ready to Lead, Washington, D.C. participants during the mentoring power hour.

While attendance at the Washington, DC Ready to Lead event (held on September 11, 2012) is not required in order to apply, attendance at Ready to Lead will be considered during the selection process. For more information about Ready to Lead, click here.

In addition to meeting one of the geographic requirements, students must:

  • Be a current 9th, 10th, or 11th grade student
  • Demonstrate interest in learning more about civic engagement

While we do require applicants share their grades and a copy of their transcript, there is no minimum GPA requirement to apply.
