Chicago Applicants

CHCI's R2L NextGen Program is an exciting opportunity available to students from select geographic areas where Ready to Lead (R2L) events have been held. This page can provide you more information for Chicago students interested in applying for the program.

I live in the Chicago area. How do I know if I'm eligible?
In order to be eligible to apply, students from the Chicago area must reside in Cook County.

While attendance at the Chicago Ready to Lead event (to be held on April 26, 2014) is not required in order to apply, attendance at Ready to Lead will be considered during the selection process. For more information about Ready to Lead, click here.

Participants during the Chicago Ready to Lead
on October 13, 2012.

In addition to meeting one of the geographic requirements, students must:

  • Be a current 9th, 10th, or 11th grade student
  • Demonstrate interest in learning more about civic engagement

While we do require applicants share their grades and a copy of their transcript, there is no minimum GPA requirement to apply.

Interested in applying? Visit apply.chci.org and complete the application named "R2L NextGen - Chicago Applicants." Applications must be completed by Tuesday, May 27, 2014!

Do you have additional questions? Contact Evelyn Garcia Morales, Manager of Educational Enrichment Programs at Egarciamorales@chci.org.
