Phoenix Applicants

CHCI's R2L NextGen is an exciting opportunity available to students from select geographic areas where Ready to Lead (R2L) events have been held. This page can provide you more information for Phoenix area students interested in applying for the program.

I live in the Phoenix area. How do I know if I'm eligible?
In order to be eligible to apply, students must be an ACTIVE participant in the ACE program at South Mountain Community College and reside in Maricopa County.

Not sure what county you live in? Click the link to visit the county website, which list all the towns within it.

While attendance at previous Phoenix Ready to Lead events is not required in order to apply, attendance at Ready to Lead will be considered during the selection process. For more information about Ready to Lead, click here.

Students attend Phoenix Ready to Lead in February 2011.

In addition to meeting one of the geographic requirements, students must:

  • Be a current 9th, 10th, or 11th grade student
  • Demonstrate interest in learning more about civic engagement

While we do require applicants share their grades and a copy of their transcript, there is no minimum GPA requirement to apply.

Interested in applying? Visit apply.chci.org and complete the application named "R2L NextGen - Phoenix Applicants." Applications must be completed by April 30, 2014 at 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time. That's 9:59 pm Mountain Standard Time!

Do you have additional questions? Contact Evelyn Garcia Morales, Manager of Educational Enrichment Programs at egarciamorales@chci.org.
