Giving Opportunities

There are many ways you can support CHCI's mission to Develop the Next Generation of Latino Leaders®.  All gifts, no matter how large or small, sustain and expand our award-winning programs.  Your generosity will make a difference in the lives of hundreds of young Latinos each year.  We are grateful for your support.

Pledge with Payments Spanning One to Three Years

Multi-year gifts are critical to CHCI.  They allow us to strategically plan program expansion and growth and provide for the donor a vehicle for creating a longer-term impact.  Multi-year gifts require a letter pledging the total commitment.  Payments on the pledge are made annually.

In-kind Donations

Your in-kind donation is very important to the success of our programs and events and provides an opportunity for your company to develop positive brand awareness.  Consumers want to know that the companies they purchase from are being socially responsible.  Aligning your brand with CHCI will demonstrate your commitment to Developing the Next Generation of Latino leaders® to your stakeholders.

Examples of useful in-kind donations:  venue rental, stage and sound equipment, food & beverage, gift certificates, photography, linens, floral, media support, office equipment, printing and design services, video production, expertise in coaching and/or leadership development, mentorship, and professional services—public relations, advertising, marketing, etc.

For purposes of determining sponsorship levels, in-kind donations are valued at retail value.

Corporate Matching Gifts

Matching gifts are a very important source of support for CHCI!  If your employer has a matching gift program, please remember to submit your request to your company to have your gift to CHCI matched.  You can double or even triple the value of your donation by simply notifying your employer of your gift to CHCI.

Gifts in Honor/Gifts in Memoriam

What better way to commemorate your personal or corporate commitment to CHCI’s mission than to name a gift in memory or in honor of a friend, family member or colleague?  When making a gift in honor of an individual, please include his or her name and address, so we can notify the honoree of the gift.  When making a gift in memoriam please include the name and address of the individual’s family, so that we may notify them of the gift made in their loved one’s name.

Create an Endowment

CHCI establishes endowment funds to provide donors a personal way to express their values and ideals about the importance of Developing the Next Generation of Latino Leaders® and to create a personal legacy.

Whether it's a scholarship fund to support promising Latino college students, providing more opportunities for students to participate in CHCI's world-class professional development programs, or another activity that reflects the benefactor's passion, an endowment is timeless because the dollars are not "spent" like annual gifts.

Endowments are invested by CHCI in accordance with the organization's investment policy, and the income earned from the endowment is directed to the purpose outlined by the donor – providing a continuing and permanent source of funding into perpetuity at CHCI.  An individual or a company may establish an endowed fund in their own name or to recognize and honor friends, family members, colleagues and mentors. Two or more donors may propose to work together to set up an endowment with the approval of CHCI leadership.

A minimum gift of $50,000 is required to establish a scholarship, unrestricted or general program endowed fund; higher minimum amounts may be required for specific purposes.

As an endowment donor, your generosity will be recognized each year in CHCI's annual report.  All endowment donors also will receive annually all appropriate CHCI Giving Society benefits.  In addition, CHCI will provide an annual update on what your gift is making possible.
